Nerds in Court earlier reported that GameStop had intentionally removed coupons for the OnLive service which Square Enix had placed in new copies of the PC version of Square Enix’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution. GameStop then proceeded to sell those copies as new, before having second thoughts and pulling the product from their shelves. In an apparent effort to apologize to consumers and/or avoid a consumer fraud class action, GameStop is now offering a $50 certificate to GameStop, plus a 3 for 2 deal on used games, to those who purchased the new PC Deus Ex from GameStop. GameStop CEO Paul Raines publicly offered deep regrets over the incident and hopes this move will regain any resulting lost trust.
