A lawsuit filed against the iconic Beyonce in April of this year is still ongoing. The suit filed by Gate 5, LLC in New York alleges that Beyonce agreed in June 2010 to license her music and image to the game “Starpower: Beyonce.” The game was intended to allow fans to sing and dance along with Beyonce to her hits. Gate 5 claims to have put $6-7 million into developing the game, which was expected to net $100 million in profits. The suit goes on to allege that in December of 2010 Beyonce attempted to renegotiate for more compensation and, when refused, pulled out of the deal. Gate 5 founder Greg Easley is reported to have had to let 70 employees go the week before Christmas as a result of Beyonce’s walk-away.
