VAMPIRE WEEKEND SUCKS OUT OF LAWSUIT

Former model Ann Kirsten Kennis had filed a civil lawsuit against Vampire Weekend and VW’s record label, XL Records, for allegedly using her photo on the cover of last year’s VW album “Contra” without permission. The suit apparently sought $2 million. Last week the case was settled for an undisclosed sum and dismissed by court order. VW and XL maintain that a photographer named Tod Brody improperly licensed the photo to them without permission and a countersuit against Brody is still going forward.
